I’m Heidi. I like to take pictures, design, write, and cook. Scratch that, I’m addicted to sharing my food with people. The kitchen is one of my favorite outlets when I can be creative and Creating a Stir is where I can share it all with you.
I’m self-taught and surround myself with the best creative, chefy friends to broaden my food scene. I’m also a margarita lover, but that’s a whole other story. My favorite protein is pork, I can destroy a kitchen in very little time, gardening keeps me sane, my kids keep me content, the beach keeps me balanced, and watching Pawn Star & MythBusters marathons keeps me entertained. I also type run-on sentences, use lots of “…’s” (i’m trying very hard to cut down), read cookbooks as if they were novels, and enjoy staying in my yoga pants as much as possible.
About Creating A Stir
I started this blog to fill a void that was in my “food life”, I knew starting my own restaurant, running a catering business or having a food truck wasn’t for me, but still I really wanted to share my cooking and food experiences with everyone. This was the best outlet for that. I also want to challenge myself to be more creative with my cooking. It is easy to fall back on the same recipes over and over and again. It’s even easier for me to forget about all the wonderful dishes I’ve only made a few times. Hopefully, this will help me to better keep track and those recipes, that won’t go missing any longer.
My blog recipes are fun and approachable, inspired by my favorite seasonal flavors and recipes from every cuisine. I also enjoy including informational tips, tricks, and posts about different cooking techniques and how to use proper ingredients and tools to achieve the best results. I share my recipe fails and triumphs so readers can learn along the way with me.
My goal is to help readers feel like are a master in the kitchen!
And, more importantly, I want everyone to enjoy the experience of making really, really great dishes and stretching their creative boundaries in the kitchen. Eating is necessary, but cooking is an art.
Feel free to comment on my blog posts adding to the conversation or you can email me at email@example.com. I reserve the right to remove promotional links, abusive and/or hurtful comments.
I truly hope Creating A Stir can serve as your online recipe repertoire. I’m thankful you’re here to join the cooking adventure!
